Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

McCook Humane Society Guest Creole is a beautiful shorthaired calico cat who comes to us because her previous owner just has too many cats and kittens. Creole came in with another cat and with kittens. She gets along with other cats, and the home she came from had dogs and kids. She's a sweet girl who is now in need of a new home.

McCook Humane Society Guest Copper is another super sweet and playful kitten who came in as a stray that wasn't claimed. This orange tabby with white markings is strikingly handsome and truly loves all of the attention he readily gets from us. He's two to three months old, loves anyone he meets and would be great in any home with anyone.

Tinker and Belle
McCook Humane Society Guest Tinker and Belle are two more of a litter of five that came in because the folks just can't keep that many cats and kittens. These are the short haired kittens of the litter, and they are right at eight weeks old. Tinker is an orange tabby, and he's a male. Belle is a female and she's black with a bit of white. These two are also very socialized, playful and ready for their new homes.

McCook Humane Society Guest Topaz came in with a litter of three kittens because they were found in a garage. Her three kittens were born right after Christmas and are all brown tabbies. She is an Abysinnian mix and also a brown tabby with white markings. They've been here for a while, so all four come pre-spoiled.

McCook Humane Society Guest Bilbo is a very handsome and chill young adult longer haired orange tabby cat. He truly is so chill, that you can pick him up, hold him, do whatever you want with him and he is fine with it. He is happy as long as you are holding him and paying him attention, he's in heaven. This guy came in as a stray, and wasn't claimed. He had to have been someone's baby, he sure loves the attention.

McCook Humane Society Guest Coconut comes to us because his previous owner has too many cats and is trying to downsize. This very sweet and friendly white and orange short haired cat is right at seven months old and very used to getting a lot of attention. He comes from a home with a lot of cats and has no problem with any of them. He came in with another cat, Wink. He gets along with anybody he's met and seems to love the attention we give him.

McCook Humane Society Guest Vulco is a very handsome short haired white and orange adult cat who came in as a stray that wasn't claimed. This guy loves every one of us, and seems to have no problem letting us wait on him! We're fairly certain he's used to having humans do his bidding. We know nothing of his past, but do know that he's friendly and gets along with anyone he meets.

Caterina and Medusa
McCook Humane Society Guest Caterina and Medusa are two of a litter of four kittens who come to us because her previous owners have too many cats and kittens and are downsizing. Their mom, Sabrina, a black short haired cat is also here, along with their two brothers, both black short haired kittens. These two tortoiseshell colored sweethearts are just as sweet as they can be. This litter was born on November 25th and are ready for their new forever homes.

Salem and Kaulder
McCook Humane Society Guest Salem and Kaulder are part of a litter of four kittens that were brought in because their previous owner had too many cats and kittens and is downsizing. They are two very handsome shorthaired black males that were born on November 25th and are socialized, playful and ready for their new families to come on in and take them home!

McCook Humane Society Guest Ice is a seriously gorgeous dilute calico short haired cat who comes to us because her owner couldn't keep her. She's very sweet and friendly, a short haired beauty that gets along with all of us. She's not a year old yet, born in July of last year and just loves the attention she always manages to get.

McCook Humane Society Guest Clover came in as a stray and is one of those guys that just wins you over with his friendly personality. He's a white and black medium haired young adult cat that truly had to have been somebody's baby at one time.. He loves to be held, loves attention, and would make anyone an awesome feline friend.
