Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Binx
McCook Humane Society Guest Binx comes to us because his owner is moving and can't take him with them. He's just over a year old and a very handsome shorthaired black super friendly cat. He gets along with everyone he meets, other cats, dogs, kids and adults alike.

Notch
McCook Humane Society Guest Notch is a beautiful black adult short haired cat that came in as a stray and sadly wasn't claimed. He truly is a sweet guy and gets along with everyone. He seems to make himself right at home wherever he is, he's truly not shy!

Autumn
McCook Humane Society Guest Autumn is the absolute perfect addition to any family looking for a feline family member. She comes to us because her previous owner is moving and can't take her. She's a gorgeous calico who gets along with humans of any age. She gets along with other cats and with dogs. She actually walks on a leash and enjoys bath time! I mean what more can you ask for in a cat?

Aspen and Cypress
McCook Humane Society Guest Aspen and Cypress are two eight week old kittens and are from a litter of six that were born on June 25th and were brought to us because the previous owner just has too many to keep. These two are just as adorable as the rest, the male orange tabby (with white) and that would be Cypress and the one calico, her name is Aspen. There's also still a black male named Willow and a female black tabby named Ash. These are all very social and sweet kittens ready for their new homes.

Louey
McCook Humane Society Guest Louey is another stray that wasn't claimed and is now available for adoption. He's right at eight weeks old and is more of a medium haired kitten. This little guy is very used to all of the attention he gets, actually gets a little demanding about it... we may have to put a warning label with him about the purring meaning wanting excessive lovings and giving bunches back!

Hans
McCook Humane Society Guest Hans is a gorgeous buff tabby who's right at three months old and was surrendered to us because his previous owner just couldn't keep him. He's a people kitty and loves the attention he gets from us and would be a wonderful pet to anyone who wants an adorable feline friend.

Blaze and Leaf
McCook Humane Society Guest Blaze and Leaf are two male orange tabbies from a litter of six that were born on June 25th and were brought to us because the previous owner just has too many to keep. There is also another male orange tabby (with white) and that would be Cypress. There is one calico, her name is Aspen. There's a black male named Willow and a female black tabby named Ash. These are all very social and sweet kittens ready for their new homes.

Chester
McCook Humane Society Guest Chester was brought in with a litter of adorable kittens because the previous owner had too many cats and kittens. This litter was born and June 10th. Chester's one of the friendliest, slightly ornery, just how we like them! He's got one of those friendly and playful personalities that make you smile no matter how bad your day may be going.

Luther
McCook Humane Society Guest Luther comes to us because his owner is moving and couldn't take him. He's an adult black short haired cat, just beautiful! He's friendly and gets along with all of us just wonderfully. This guy is vocal, not loud, it's actually comical. Come on in and meet this handsome guy!

Tommy
McCook Humane Society Guest Tommy is a stray black tabby kitten who's best guess right at eight weeks old now and was brought in to the shelter in the hopes that we'd be able to find him a new home. We personally do not think that will be a problem, as this young guy has the sweetest purrsonality ever! He gets along with absolutely everyone and is going to make someone a wonderful feline friend.

Jenny
McCook Humane Society Guest Jenny is an extremely sweet and very friendly soft gray tabby short haired cat who comes to us because a family member in her previous family's allergies got so bad she had to be re-homed. She's a little under two years old. This wonderful gal gets along with kids, adults, other cats and even likes dogs! She's the perfect feline family addition to any home.

Link
McCook Humane Society Guest Link came in as a stray and wasn't claimed, he's right at four months old and is an adorable gray tabby with white markings. He's really friendly and he just loves all the attention we give him. He's got a little "crook" in his tail, that gives him character and makes us think he might have some Siamese in his family tree.

Ice
McCook Humane Society Guest Ice was found abandoned at a rural farm and the folks tried to find an owner but couldn't. This over friendly, gorgeous adult Lilac Point Siamese fella was so friendly they brought him to us to see if we could find him a new home. He truly is a sweetheart and loves nothing better than to cuddle. He'd be a wonderful house companion to anyone looking for a friend.

Husker
McCook Humane Society Guest Husker is one of a litter of what we've named The Barn Babies that were born in a barn and surprisingly they were just as friendly as could be and wanted nothing but attention! They were born on July 29th and this is Husker who's the orange and white fella.

The Barn Babies
McCook Humane Society Guest The Barn Babies were born in a barn and surprisingly they were just as friendly as could be and wanted nothing but attention! They were born on July 29th and this litter consists of Sammie who's a black and white female and Toni who's a creme and white Siamese looking gal. There's Husker who's the orange and white fella, then Possum, the gray and white guy. Finally there's the extremely needy, friendly, very clingy and aptly named Velcro, the white fella.

Velcro
McCook Humane Society Guest Velcro is part of a litter that we call The Barn Babies. They were born in a barn and surprisingly they were just as friendly as could be and wanted nothing but attention! They were born on July 29th and this fella is the extremely needy, friendly, very clingy and aptly named Velcro.
