Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

McCook Humane Society Guest Moose is a gorgeous adult orange Tabby longer haired cat who's got more of an actual buff coloring to him. This guy comes to us because his previous owner just can no longer care for him. Moose is quite the guy, loves to ham it up for photo shoots as you can see, and gets along with everyone. His home had no dogs in it, so we're not sure about his fondness of the canine friends.

Puddy Tat
McCook Humane Society Guest Puddy Tat is a very friendly black and white short haired cat that showed up on a family's porch and decided that was home. They tried to find his owner but couldn't, so they brought him in to us, and we had the same luck. His owner never came and claimed him, so this young adult sweetheart is now available for adoption. He's one of those fellas that would fit in wonderfully with any family and any home.

McCook Humane Society Guest Barney, and his brother Fred, come to us because their previous owner passed away and they're needing a new home to live in. Both of these sweethearts are confused, they've only known their one home... but it didn't take them but a minute to come out and get some loving and petting. They're very friendly, get along with other cats and with dogs. They don't seem to have a problem with anyone as long as they get attention! They look alike, the best way you can tell them apart is that Fred has the black spot on his nose.

Purretta Lynn
McCook Humane Society Guest Purretta Lynn came in as a stray, and purring her little heart out, so we named her something befitting a beautiful singing star. She's a sweet longer haired calico cat that would probably fit in perfectly in any home with anyone who paid this little beauty attention.

Bam Bam
McCook Humane Society Guest Bam Bam is another very handsome two year old cat with longer hair (medium haired). He's a gray tabby with white, who comes to us because his previous owner passed away. He came in with two other cats, and he also was so depressed when he first came in, it was heartbreaking! Just like his pals, he's coming out of it and comes out to greet us all now. This guy would be a perfect addition to any home looking for a cool cat to hang out with them, he wouldn't be under your feet but would really enjoy hanging out with you.

McCook Humane Society Guest Tucker is an extremely handsome two year old black and white cat who comes to us because his previous owner passed away. He was so depressed when he first came in, but he's coming out of it and comes out to greet us all now. This medium haired cat is friendly but not pushy, and would be the perfect companion for someone who's looking for that independent but lovable pal.

Edgar Alan Purr
McCook Humane Society Guest Edgar Alan Purr is another young cat that came in as a stray and wasn't claimed. This distinguished and extremely friendly longer haired black cat had to have been someone's baby, he's very snuggly and seems to be most content when he's on one of us. He'd be a wonderful addition to any home, he certainly gets along with everyone he meets and we're convinced he'd even try to read his new human bedtime stories.

Catti LaBelle
McCook Humane Society Guest Catti LaBelle comes to us because her previous owner passed away and she had no where to go. This young adult calico short haired cat would be fine in any home when given a chance to settle in. We don't know much about her, because the folks that were kind enough to bring her in didn't know. We do know she's warmed right up to us here. She's right under a year old, a beautiful girl looking for a new home and a human to call her own.

McCook Humane Society Guest Meeka comes to us because her owners moved and didn't take her with them. She's a gray tabby cat with white, medium haired, with the most cutest little deal about her... her right ear stays folded down. It has been injured and we don't see it as anything but endearing, adding to her beauty.

McCook Humane Society Guest Sparrow is a soft gray tabby cat that has been with us since she was a tiny kitten. She was born way back in late July of last year and was brought in because her previous owners had too many kittens and cats and couldn't find homes for them all. She was one kitten of many litters that came in all at once. We've had this gal for so long that she's most definitely pre-spoiled. If you're looking for a very lovable, extremely friendly house cat and best feline friend... you've found her.
