Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Aura Alys and Eris
McCook Humane Society Guest Aura, Alys, and Eris are all part of a litter of five extremely adorable kittens that came in because there were just too many kittens! There are three gals and two guys, they were born on April 3rd and they are very ready for new homes. They've been handled and are used to being loved on. There's one calico, two gray and white and two black and white ones, all with short to medium hair.

Chloe
McCook Humane Society Guest Chloe is a beautiful shorter gray haired cat who comes to us because her owner developed allergies and couldn't keep her and the other cat that she had. She's a very sweet girl who gets along with everyone, but like a lot cats at times would rather just lay around and just be a cat.

Ox
McCook Humane Society Guest Meet Ox. This little guy didn't get his name from his size at all, it was because he actually hitched a ride in all the way from Oxford on a vehicle! He was so tiny and another one of the many little orphaned kittens we've nursed and now available for adoption. This little white short haired cat with gray tabby markings is another one of our favorites just because of his outgoing personality and happy disposition.

Jill
McCook Humane Society Guest Jill, along with her twin sister, Jackie, comes to us because her previous owner just has way too many pets and is downsizing. Both of these girls are right at a year old and extremely friendly. Jill tends to be a little more on her own then her sister, Jackie, but loves the attention just the same. They're both short haired tortoiseshell cats that get along with everyone, other cats and dogs included.

Nova and Zebe
McCook Humane Society Guest Nova and Zebe are all part of a litter of five extremely adorable kittens that came in because there were just too many kittens! There are three gals and two guys, they were born on April 3rd and they are very ready for new homes. They've been handled and are used to being loved on. There's one calico, two gray and white and two black and white ones, all with short to medium hair. ADOPTION NOTE: Zebe has been adopted!

Notch
McCook Humane Society Guest Notch is a beautiful black adult short haired cat that came in as a stray and sadly wasn't claimed. He truly is a sweet guy and gets along with everyone. He seems to make himself right at home wherever he is, he's truly not shy!

Emma
McCook Humane Society Guest Emma is one of a litter of kittens that were brought in as strays that were way too young to be adopted and we've nursed them until they were old enough find their own homes. This eight week old adorable silver and gray tabby cat is extremely used to being held and loves all of the attention that she gets. She gets along with everyone!

The Wild Bunch
McCook Humane Society Guest Check out The Wild Bunch! We call them that because when they first came in they hadn't had much contact with humans at all, just like a lot of the orphaned kittens we get. There are three girls and a guy named Kermit and he's the orange tabby. Sue, Peggy and Rita are the females. These kittens are all right at eight weeks old and would be terrific outside/inside pets.

Saturn
McCook Humane Society Guest Saturn is an eight week old brown tabby kitten that was brought in as a stray that wasn't claimed. She's used to being handled now and actually very tame, it's hard for us to believe that she wasn't somebody's baby. She loves everyone she meets, well anyone that pays her any attention!

Nicole
McCook Humane Society Guest Nicole is a beautiful black short haired cat that came in as a stray but wasn't claimed. We don't know anything about her past, so we don't know how she gets along with other cats or with dogs, but we know she doesn't have a problem whatsoever getting pet and being handled by all of us and anyone who comes to see her. She's in a room full of cats and sure seems okay with that also!

Website photos and pets' availability are updated weekly.  "Adopt a Pet" on KICX radio, 96.1 FM, airs each day between 7:30 and 8 am with the latest information on our adoptable pets or give us a call at the Shelter.
