Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Puddy Tat
McCook Humane Society Guest Puddy Tat is a very friendly black and white short haired cat that showed up on a family's porch and decided that was home. They tried to find his owner but couldn't, so they brought him in to us, and we had the same luck. His owner never came and claimed him, so this young adult sweetheart is now available for adoption. He's one of those fellas that would fit in wonderfully with any family and any home.

McCook Humane Society Guest Tucker is an extremely handsome two year old black and white cat who comes to us because his previous owner passed away. He was so depressed when he first came in, but he's coming out of it and comes out to greet us all now. This medium haired cat is friendly but not pushy, and would be the perfect companion for someone who's looking for that independent but lovable pal.

McCook Humane Society Guest Metzcar came in to us with a few other cats and was brought in because the folks just had too many cats. This white and orange tabby cat is actually a longer haired cat, but we had to shave him because he was pretty matted up. His hair is already growing back in so nicely, and he feels so much better without all those mats! He comes from a home with a lot of other cats but that's all we know about his past. He likes us and boy does he talk to us, we enjoy our conversations, he puts a smile on our faces no matter what!

Stevie Ray
McCook Humane Society Guest Here's another Rock Star that came in just recently! Stevie Ray! He's one of a litter of five short haired kittens who were brought in because the folks had too many kittens and couldn't find homes for them all. They're between nine and ten weeks old and are very used to being handled. He's also very friendly, has a purr motor that works just fine, and loves attention! He came in with one female (Janis) and three other males: Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young and Slash.

McCook Humane Society Guest Moto is a very pretty black and white shorter haired cat. She came in with her pal, Dusky, and they come to us because their previous owner can no longer care for them due to the owner's health conditions. She's also very used to attention and is an extremely outgoing and friendly girl. She's been around older kids, dogs, big and small, and other cats, she got along great with all of them.

McCook Humane Society Guest Nala is a beautiful white and black longer haired cat who comes to us because her previous owner's health declined to the point where they couldn't take care of her anymore. She's very sweet, and would like nothing more than to be a lap kitty. She's right under a year old, loves everyone and would be an awesome addition to any home looking for that perfect feline companion.

McCook Humane Society Guest Flint came in as a stray and we still can not believe that this lovable young guy wasn't claimed by his owner. This guy has got it all! Looks, charm, personality and smarts! He's been front de-clawed, he's been very socialized, this guy doesn't know a stranger. This white and black short haired young cat has got the neatest markings ever and you really should come on in and meet, you truly will fall in love!

McCook Humane Society Guest Keo came in with his brother, Jack, and a mom and her litter of kittens that are still way too young to adopt out. This group of cats and kittens all came in because the folks have way too many cats and they're all used to being out on the farm, but very friendly and used to being handled by kids and adults alike. Keo is a beautiful young ten month old male buff tabby with shorter hair.
