Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Aura Alys and Eris
McCook Humane Society Guest Aura, Alys, and Eris are all part of a litter of five extremely adorable kittens that came in because there were just too many kittens! There are three gals and two guys, they were born on April 3rd and they are very ready for new homes. They've been handled and are used to being loved on. There's one calico, two gray and white and two black and white ones, all with short to medium hair.

Chloe
McCook Humane Society Guest Chloe is a beautiful shorter gray haired cat who comes to us because her owner developed allergies and couldn't keep her and the other cat that she had. She's a very sweet girl who gets along with everyone, but like a lot cats at times would rather just lay around and just be a cat.

Jill
McCook Humane Society Guest Jill, along with her twin sister, Jackie, comes to us because her previous owner just has way too many pets and is downsizing. Both of these girls are right at a year old and extremely friendly. Jill tends to be a little more on her own then her sister, Jackie, but loves the attention just the same. They're both short haired tortoiseshell cats that get along with everyone, other cats and dogs included.

Nova and Zebe
McCook Humane Society Guest Nova and Zebe are all part of a litter of five extremely adorable kittens that came in because there were just too many kittens! There are three gals and two guys, they were born on April 3rd and they are very ready for new homes. They've been handled and are used to being loved on. There's one calico, two gray and white and two black and white ones, all with short to medium hair. ADOPTION NOTE: Zebe has been adopted!

Notch
McCook Humane Society Guest Notch is a beautiful black adult short haired cat that came in as a stray and sadly wasn't claimed. He truly is a sweet guy and gets along with everyone. He seems to make himself right at home wherever he is, he's truly not shy!

The Wild Bunch
McCook Humane Society Guest Check out The Wild Bunch! We call them that because when they first came in they hadn't had much contact with humans at all, just like a lot of the orphaned kittens we get. There are three girls and a guy named Kermit and he's the orange tabby. Sue, Peggy and Rita are the females. These kittens are all right at eight weeks old and would be terrific outside/inside pets.

Wendy
McCook Humane Society Guest Wendy (and Kyle) are two adorable medium haired orange tabby kittens who came in as strays when they were way too young to be adopted. We've nursed them and spoiled them rotten and now they're ready for someone to come in and adopt them and take over the spoiling. They're both very friendly, and get along with absolutely anybody.

Kyle
McCook Humane Society Guest Kyle and Wendy are two adorable medium haired orange tabby kittens who came in as strays when they were way too young to be adopted. We've nursed them and spoiled them rotten and now they're ready for someone to come in and adopt them and take over the spoiling. They're both very friendly, and get along with absolutely anybody.

Robin
McCook Humane Society Guest Robin came in as a stray with her buddy Batman. They weren't claimed and are not available for adoption. Robin is a young short haired dilute calico, definitely under a year old, very sweet and loving and has had to have been someone's baby at sometime. She's very used to being held, actually craves it, she's one of the ones that reaches out and grabs you when you walk by as if to tell you, "Don't you dare walk by without taking me out and holding me you silly human!"

Batman
McCook Humane Society Guest Batman came in as a stray with his companion, Robin, a female dilute tortie. They weren't claimed and are not available for adoption. Batman is a young male, definitely under a year old, very sweet and loving and has had to have been someone's baby at sometime. He's very used to being held and loves the attention he gets.

Boo
McCook Humane Society Guest Boo is a gorgeous medium haired Calico cat who comes to us because unfortunately the newest member of the family is severely allergic to cats! Boo is a six year old who is used to a lot of attention and loves it, she is great with other cats, with dogs and with humans of any age.

Lily
McCook Humane Society Guest Lily is another stray that wasn't claimed and is now available for adoption. She's right at eight weeks old and is more of a medium haired kitten. This little beauty is very used to all of the attention she gets, actually gets a little demanding about it... we may have to put a warning label with her about the purring meaning wanting excessive lovings and giving bunches back!

Hannah
McCook Humane Society Guest Hannah is a gorgeous buff tabby who's right at three months old and was surrendered to us because her previous owner just couldn't keep her. She's a people kitty and loves the attention she gets from us and would be a wonderful pet to anyone who wants an adorable feline friend.

Piper
McCook Humane Society Guest Here's a sweetheart! Piper comes to us because her previous owner is moving and can't take her with them. She's a five year old front declawed shorthaired tortoiseshell cat who adores attention. She absolutely loved it when we brushed the mats out of her fur and just laid there wanting more lovings! She's a big girl, so be ready for a bit of weight when she sits on your lap and a whole lot of love!

Binx
McCook Humane Society Guest Binx comes to us because his owner is moving and can't take him with them. He's just over a year old and a very handsome shorthaired black super friendly cat. He gets along with everyone he meets, other cats, dogs, kids and adults alike.
