Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Gherkin, Dill and Pickle
McCook Humane Society Guest Like Pickles as much as we do? Well Gherkin, Dill and Pickle are three adorable little kittens that were brought in when they were discovered under the folks' trailer. These girls are super sweet and just friendly as can be. They're all three females, right at eight weeks old and ready for adoption. Two are gray tabbies and one is a soft gray. All are shorter haired and yes, as usual, come pre-spoiled!

Laverne and Shirley
McCook Humane Society Guest Laverne and Shirley are two white and gray short haired kittens that came in with their mama cat Tamison, and were brought in because someone in the home was allergic to cats. These two are just now eight weeks old and are available for adoption. These two girls, as most of our furkids do, come pre-spoiled, they've been here a few weeks while waiting to be old enough to adopt out and so have been handled and loved on quite a bit.

Peanut and Lucy
McCook Humane Society Guest Peanut and Lucy are part of a litter of kittens that were brought to us that was found under a trailer. They are now eight weeks old, ready and available for adoption after we've nursed them and kept them until they were ready. Lucy is the mostly black with white one, the only female, and Peanut is a gray tabby with white. They're all short haired kittens, all used to attention, come pre-spoiled and would make anyone a wonderful companion.

Bonnie and Clyde
McCook Humane Society Guest Bonnie and Clyde are part of a litter of four kittens that came in because the folks had too many cats and kittens. They were born on Feb. 11th and are all short haired cats that are all pretty friendly and very friendly! Bonnie is the female, she's the black one, and Clyde is the gray tabby with white markings.

Mickey and Mallory
McCook Humane Society Guest Mickey and Mallory are part of a litter of four kittens that came in because the folks had too many cats and kittens. They were born on Feb. 11th and are all short haired cats that are all pretty friendly and very friendly! Mallory is the female, she's the seal point Siamese mix, and Mickey is the black with white markings. ADOPTION NOTE: Mallory (the Seal Pt Siamese mix female) has been adopted, leaving Mickey alone still waiting for someone to adopt him!

Tamison
McCook Humane Society Guest Tamison is a one year old gorgeous gray tabby with white shorter haired cat. She comes to us only because the hubby is allergic to cats and the allergies got so bad the family had to make the decision that Tammy and the kittens had to find a new home. She's here looking for a new home, along with her kittens, Laverne and Shirley. She's a sweetheart, and gets along with all of us.

Cole
McCook Humane Society Guest Adorable yes! Unlucky no! Cole wants you to know that it is not unlucky to have a black kitty! Especially this cute little gal who was left abandoned when her mother was injured. She's very sweet, playful, and loves to be handled. She's just now ready for adoption, and this black medium haired little girl will when your heart quickly like she did ours!

Crystal
McCook Humane Society Guest Unlucky no! Crystal also wants you to know that it is not unlucky to have a black kitty! Crystal is a gorgeous and sweet shorthaired black and white kitten who is the sister to Cole, another kitten who was left abandoned when her mother was injured. She's also sweet, playful, and loves to be handled. She's just now ready for adoption, and this little girl will take over your lap if you let her!

Mel
McCook Humane Society Guest Mel is an absolutely adorable little longer haired gray tabby kitten that was found on Norris Ave and was actually rescued from being hit! He's very appreciative, we think he knows it, and he shows it by the way he wants to always play and snuggle with absolutely anyone that will be him any attention at all! He's just now right at eight weeks old, so he's now available for adoption, and since we've had him for a bit, yes, he comes pre-spoiled!

Cali
McCook Humane Society Guest This gorgeous young female short haired cat is very friendly and is more of a tortoiseshell than a calico... but has white markings on her chest and feet. We're telling her she can be whatever she chooses to be and since the folks that found her named her Cali, we'll keep that as her name. She's a sweetheart and seems to like the attention we give her, but we don't know anything else about her since she came in as a stray. She's right around eight months old.

Romeo
McCook Humane Society Guest Romeo was named for the exact reason that comes to mind... this one year old gray and white short haired cat is a lovebug! He is so sweet, and just absolutely loves to snuggle and sit on your lap. His previous owner did not want to bring him in, and was in tears just talking about it. Having to move into assisted living and due to health issues, having no choice, it was a hard decision and you can sure tell that this guy is used to a lot of attention. If you're looking for a fella that comes pre-spoiled... yep, you found him!
